New Driver in Town!!!!

Hi everyone!

I hope your week is going well so far. I have some really good news to share………… I GOT MY LICENSE!!!!!!!!!!! I got it back in February but I am just now sharing it with y’all! When I took my driver’s test, I was not even nervous and I passed the first time!! WOOHOO!!!! I am so excited to be an official driver!!

When I first started driving, it was such an adventure!!! Dang those lines were small to try to stay between and don’t even get me started on the curbs. I felt like my tires were attracted to those silly curbs. There is  one big problem with the driving…….. I am only five foot two so seeing over the dash is a challenge. A few weeks ago my mom got me a cushion to sit on. This has really helped me see better.

Even though I have been driving for awhile, my mom still acts like she is going to have a heart attack when I drive. Haha 😂 My dad, on the other hand, is very calm and chill which is good when driving.

I have been driving everywhere this summer and I can’t wait to drive myself to school this year!!!! Look out world, here I come!!!!!!!!!

Notice the cushion behind me!! (LOL!!)

Sweet 16 Parties!!!!

Hi everyone!!

This is the year of turning 16!!!!! While my Sweet 16 was a family affair, I was lucky enough to get invited to some super cool parties!

A couple of the parties that I attended had game trucks. I had never seen this before, but it was pretty neat. On the inside of the truck, there were large TVs on which you could play wii and Xbox… IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!! On the outside of the truck, there was a huge flat screen TV that my friends and I played “Just Dance” on!!   The truck kept everyone busy and having fun!

Another party that I attended was a fun brunch at a friend’s house. It was a dressy affair with lots of food, friends, and fun!  This party had a photo booth with a glitzy, gold background and silly props!

The last party that I went to was a super cool New York themed party. The dress was semi-formal so it was fun to dress up and wear heels. There was an area in the room that had a fake fountain and fake shrubs that made it look like Central Park. For dinner, we had Mexican food. For dessert, we had cake and a table full of candy!! We danced all night and had a blast!!

For my Sweet 16, my family and I and a friend went to the college that my dad got his Bachelor’s degree from. We walked around the campus and ate at my favorite restaurant. Then when we got home that night, my friend and I had a sleepover!!! I had an amazing Sweet 16!!! I can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of the year!!

My mom snapped these photos before leaving for the parties!!

Day 4: White Out Day!!!!

Hi Everyone!!!!

This was the fourth day of Homecoming Week and it was “White Out” Day for the volleyball team. There’s not much to this costume but any day that is a break from uniforms is fun!!  I was thinking that if you add some cotton balls, it would make a great Abominable Snowman or a snowball costume!!! I put silver icicles in my hair.  I hope you can see them!

Unfortunately, I have a lot of homework to do so this is a short post. I hope y’all have a great weekend!!!!!!!!

Christmas Fun with a Special Friend☺️

Hello everyone!!!

I know this is after Christmas, but I really wanted to post about this because it was such a fun day!!! I have a tradition of doing  gingerbread houses every year at Christmas time. My mom had been looking for gingerbread houses that were already assembled, but she couldn’t find them. We had tried the non-assembled houses in the past, but they always collapsed. My mom’s great friend Mrs. Sheryl came to the rescue!!! She found fully assembled and ready to decorate gingerbread houses somewhere!!!!

I’m going to give a little back history here. My mom went to college with Mrs. Sheryl and they remained friends after college. My friend in the pictures below is Mrs. Sheryl’s daughter, KK (Yes, KK is really her nickname). We were born around the same time and have been good friends our whole life. I was so happy to see KK and spend time with her!! We don’t get to spend time with each other very often because she lives about 45 minutes away and she goes to a different school. When she came to my house on this day, I was super excited to see her. She has an amazing personality and a crazy sense of humor that always makes me laugh!!! I couldn’t wait to do the houses with her and eat icing and candy(LOL!!).

We had a great time!! We laughed, took some trips down memory lane, talked, and kept trying to take pictures of my mom, which she hates (LOL!!) We also had some really cool colored teeth after eating the icing!! I am so glad that I got to do this with KK. Any chance that I get to do something with her, I will take it!! She really is a special friend!!

Fun with my Cousin!!💕

Hey everyone!!! HAPPY 2018!!!!

This past weekend, my cousin came down!! I have not seen her since last Christmas. A few years ago, she moved from being 10 minutes from my house to being 2 1/2 hours away!!!! I am so grateful that I got to spend four days with her!! She really is an amazing person and I love her so much!!!!

We had so much fun together and did a lot of things!! We went to Star Wars The Last Jedi and Daddy’s Home 2 (I highly recommend this because it’s hilarious!). Then we played in the theater arcade and made homemade hot chocolate (YUM!!) that night!! Lastly, we played computer games, made chocolate chip cookies, and set off some fireworks and sparklers!!!!!!

I am so blessed to have this sweet girl as my cousin!!

Ima Hogg’s House With Some Friends

Hi everyone!!!!

One fun thing we did this Christmas was tour Ima Hogg’s house. Ima Hogg was the daughter of Jim Hogg, governor of the state of Texas. She was born July 10, 1882 and died August 19, 1975. Ima Hogg was a philanthropist and loved to collect art. Between 1899 and 1901, she attended the University of Texas(🤘🏻) at Austin; then ImaHogg went to NYC to study piano and music theory for a couple of years. Interestingly, she never got married.

This was an interesting tour. When we started the tour we watched a “spatial augmented reality” video projected on a wall of the house which showed Santa trying to get into the windows. As we walked through the house, there are live actors and actresses telling stories about Ima Hogg as Santa was trying to get inside. At the very end of the tour, Santa finally makes it into the house and there is a big feast scene. It was a beautiful tour!

After the tour, we walked around the grounds and there were tables at which you could play Christmas songs with colorful bells. They also had sledding, Santa Claus, hot chocolate, and snacks. There were carolers and beautiful lights as well. I really hope y’all can visit Ima Hogg’s house because it is definitely worth your time. I would totally come back here next year!!

Ima Hogg’s house also has an azalea tour in the Spring and I am really hoping to go.

SLEDDING!!!!!!

A pic with Santa!!!!!

Fun with friends!!!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!!!!

Pretty lights!!!!!

Halloween at memory care with my great grandfather!!❤️

Hi everyone!!!

Sorry that I have not posted in a while. My blog was down for  a bit, but I think we fixed it!!

I am going back in time to Halloween when I was at my great grandfather’s memory care home for his Halloween party!! I had a lot of fun seeing him and seeing a couple of our cousins. Pawpaw’s memory care always does a great job with the decorations, food, and the…DESSERT!!!!!😋 I always enjoy going to these parties and getting to see Pawpaw and spending time with him. I lost my Meme when I was little, so I am so blessed to still have my Pawpaw. I was named after Meme.

These are a few of the pictures from memory care that night!!

Family fun!!!

Aren’t these decorations cute?????????

A fancy skeleton!!!

I love my Pawpaw!!!

Zac Brown Band Concert🤠

Hey it’s Sweet Ray!!!

I hope your weekend is going well so far! I decided to post about my father/daughter night a few weeks ago. For this night, we ate at my favorite restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings, and then we went to a Zac Brown Band concert!! It was a really fun night even though we got home really late. It was worth it!!

Next week is Homecoming Week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely post a picture of my costumes for each theme day!!!!! Our themes for the week are Career Day, Decade Day, Character Day, White Out Day (for the homecoming volleyball game), Spirit Day,…and…HOMECOMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!!!!!

I❤️GLITTER!!

Hey, it’s Sweet Ray!!

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday evening. Today I decided to post about how much I love glitter!! ✨  If I am at the store and I see glitter…I GO NUTS!!!!!!! I love glitter on my nails, clothes, shoes, purses, notebooks, etc. The eyeshadow that I wore in this picture was Touch n sol metallic eyeshadow in rose gold. I decided to post this picture because you can see the glitter on my eyes really well. I love this eyeshadow so much!!

I also love the brand Charlotte Tilbury. She is one of my favorites. I wear her make-up to school everyday!! Her make-up style to me is very stunning and it really makes the color of your eyes pop!! Charlotte Tilbury is very expensive but my mom pitches in to help me buy it. I use it sparingly and I try to go light on the glitter for school. But when the weekends come…BRING ON THE GLITTER!!!!✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨

Did anyone do anything fun this weekend? I was studying for a test and quiz that I have next week for my Theology class and my Composition and Literature class. In my Comp/Lit class we are reading Dante’s The Inferno. It is very interesting. Has anyone read this book? If you have let me know if you like it.

Poppy’s 70th Birthday!!!

Hey, it’s Sweet Ray!!!!

This was my Poppy’s 70th birthday picture!! We took him out to eat at his favorite restaurant and had cake!! It was a really fun evening and I had fun spending time with my AWESOME grandfather who I call Poppy!! He is a really wonderful grandfather and I love him very much!! I have a funny memory about Poppy when I was young. When I was about 4 years old, at every restaurant we went to, he would put coffee in a saucer and pour milk and sugar in it and I would drink it!! It was really good.  Except there was one problem with that. It really aggravated my mom because 4 year olds should not be drinking coffee. LOL!!!

The restaurant was really dark so I had to brighten the picture. I got pixelation. I am really sorry about that, but I love the picture anyway.
